Parents, students, and community members are invited to a free, open discussion on youth substance use in Kendall County. Local leaders including Sheriff Al Auxier, Judge David Neighbor, Hill Country Family Services, Boerne ISD, and HCCADA will share prevention tools, resources, and guidance for families.

This SAMHSA-supported event offers practical tips to promote healthy choices and behaviors in our youth.

Boerne Brush Collection Week Underway
City crews are out this week for the scheduled December Brush Collection. Residents should place brush at the curb by 7 a.m. on their pickup day. This is the final brush pickup of the year for Boerne.

TRAFFIC NOTICE: Upcoming TxDOT Work on FM 3351 at the Cibolo Creek Bridge
Weather permitting, beginning Wednesday, December 10 at 8:00 a.m., traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane under two-way traffic control with flaggers and police officers assisting.
Closures will operate 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. while crews shift traffic to the west side to install new concrete and pedestrian rails.
Expect delays and drive cautiously. Full bridge reopening is anticipated late February.

🚫 FIREWORKS RESTRICTION ORDER IN EFFECT (Dec 20 – Jan 1)
Due to dry conditions and elevated wildfire risk, Kendall County has officially prohibited:
• Skyrockets / Bottle Rockets
• “Pop Rockets”
• Any fireworks deemed unsafe by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
Violations are a Class C misdemeanor with fines up to $500.

High School Hoops:
The Boerne Greyhounds varsity basketball squads had a big night against San Antonio Veterans Memorial.

  • The boys pulled out a gritty 46–40 home win in a tight defensive battle.

  • The girls dominated on the road with a 65–17 victory.
    Strong statement wins all around as district play heats up.

High School Football:
On the gridiron, the Boerne Greyhounds football team is gearing up for a huge regional championship rematch with Alamo Heights this weekend at Alamo Stadium. Both teams come in at 12–1, with Boerne still the only squad to hand the Mules a loss this season.

Spurs Update:
The San Antonio Spurs picked up a wild 135–132 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, sealed by a clutch go-ahead floater from rookie Dylan Harper with 9 seconds left. Despite nearly giving up a 20-point halftime lead, San Antonio held on to improve to 16–7 on the season. Next up: a high-stakes showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers in NBA Cup play.
